This month in Vanguard.
July saw quite a few changes in Vanguard. Due to a drop in Oceanic membership and not having any units with an OC presence, VG and Army Command elected to temporarily reclass the OC Regional Officer position as a secondary American RO position to help with the load in VG and the coming Horizon Teams. Congratulations to Denied who has become the secondary American RO! We also lost Toxyn as the European RO so VG is currently looking for candidates for the position.
It is the final home stretch in the launch of two divisions. Homefront and World of Tanks are launching to full division status on August 7th at the TFO meeting. Members from both groups are welcome to attend the TFO meeting which is a TAW tradition. Homefront will be going to 1st Corps under Chicago and Dogstar, with World of Tanks moving to 2nd Corps under Beerstud and DakotaLew. Congratulations to both of these awesome units for meeting all the requirements to launch from Vanguard!
The new Horizon Team program is starting in Vanguard. Horizon is a new program designed to open up for early recruitment of large, block-buster games before they actually release. This program is only open to new recruits and NOT to transfers of existing members, however, existing members are encouraged to participate at Horizon Team meetings if they can make it. Four new Horizon Teams have already been formed: Battlefield 3, Call of Duty 8 (Modern Warfare 3), Red Orchestra 2 and Star Wars the Old Republic. Assisting the VG staff in running these teams are some fine spinup leads: Bravehardt, ChicagoOne and our Commander in Chief Hook. They will be helping to administer these units from their conception now as Horizon Teams through until the games officially spinup in Vanguard. A big thank you to these fine gentlemen!
Though it is not qualifying for Horizon Team status, TAW is looking to bring Nuclear Dawn in when the game releases September 25th. Stay tuned for this awesome cross between a First Person Shooter and a Real Time Strategy game.
